OUR Story
I was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica and migrated to the United States as a teenager. In 2013, I purchased my first home on the island. It was such an amazing experience when I received my keys and a huge accomplishment for me because I came from very humble beginnings. In other words, it is great to own a “piece of yard”. Most importantly, it felt great to make a contribution to the economy of the country I love so much. That happiness quickly turned into momentary panic when I came to the realization that in order to maintain possession of this property, it has to pay for itself and so my journey began as a vacation rental host.
My journey has been filled with mixed feelings and emotions. It has been frustrating and time consuming but equally exciting and rewarding. However, after taking a step back to examine my determination and resilience during each situation, I realized that I have finally found my passion!
My biggest points of frustration with hosting a vacation rental was first finding the right local partners to uphold my high level of standard, the difficulty in find partners that I can trust, who are honest and who are equally invested in the success of my rental.
